Collingwood midfielder Scott Pendlebury is starting to emerge as a real danger to Brownlow medal favourite Gary Ablett ($1.65).
Pendlebury is one of the best backed players today and has firmed from $11 to $8 since this morning.
“Given we have seen just two favourites win the award in the past six years the move isn’t a total surprise,” said TAB’s Matt Jenkins.
“Ablett remains the most popular pick, but there is real interest around Sam Mitchell ($5) and Scott Pendlebury ($8).”
Mitchell has been the centre of a huge plunge in recent days firming from $21 to $5 since Thursday night.
Gary Ablett will start the shortest priced Brownlow medal favourite since Shane Crawford ($1.50) won the award in ‘99.
It is the fourth time Ablett has been favourite; he won in ’09.
