Roger Federer started the Australian Open his longest price to win the title since 2001, but has emerged as one of the main threats to Novak Djokovic ($1.75).

The four-time Australian Open champion has firmed from $13 to $7 on the back of his comprehensive fourth-round win against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Today one punter parted with $30,000 @ $7 on Federer to win the Grand Slam; they will collect $210,000 if he wins.

The world no. 6 will is $1.80 to beat and Andy Murray ($2.05) in his next match and will start favourite against him for the first time in nearly 18 months.

If Federer wins he is likely to meet Rafael Nadal, who he has only beaten once in his last six matches on hard court.
