Cranbourne colt Polanski has been heavily backed to win the Victoria Derby at Flemington tomorrow.
The bargain buy, who cost just $4000 as a yearling, is $6.00 and the best backed runner with online bookmaker Sportsbet Australia. Favourite Savvy Nature has eased from $4.60 to $4.80 and Complacent has also blown out to $5.50.
“There’s been a massive go for Polanski and by all indications it could be a three-way battle for favouritism. While Savvy Nature and Complacent are the star runners, they have wide barriers to contend with and Polanski should get the gun run,’’ Sportsbet’s Shaun Anderson said.

While the Derby betting battle continues Zoustar ($1.90) holds more money than every other runner put together in the Coolmore Stakes.
It’s a similar affair in the Mackinnon with favourite Jet Away ($3.00) solid favourite, but a sprinkling of support for Dear Demi ($10).
Queenslander Fire Up Fifi ($7.00) has had good support to beat the favourite Red Tracer ($2.45) in the Myer Classic. As far as weight of money goes there is little between the pair and Sharnee Rose ($9.00) also has admirers.
